Over the past few months, around half of all websites have seen a considerable increase of referral traffic. Most website owners happily check their Google Analytics data only to be disappointed to see that almost all of the referrals are spam.
The amount of referral spam has grown exponentially this year and an end is not in sight.
When trying to find a fix you will notice that there are many articles, all providing different information and solutions. In order to prevent you from spending too much of your valuable time on a nuisance like this you should have a look at this infographic.
We worked together with an excellent design team to create this infographic. We drew statistics from 292 accounts that we moderate at AdWords Robot to give you an insight into the problem of referral spam. The infographic gives information on the types of spam, where it is coming from and which domain names to look out for.
Next to that we thoroughly investigated all available solutions that tackle the spam and selected the best ones for the infographic.
